Endy, ya did good.
The Upholstered Bed frame by the direct online-only store looks chic and welcoming, feels soft and durable and is made in Canada. These fantastic results aside, the assembly could not be easier. Do not take that statement lightly; I swore off furniture assembly as I swore at an unruly Ikea Kallax shelf.
This review is positive but my tune was quite different when the process started. When it comes down to it, I recommend the bed frame, but I also recommend learning from my mistakes.
Endy has four bed frames: the Platform Bed Frame, the Adjustable Bed, the Upholstered Bed and the Solid Wood Bed. This review is specific to the Upholstered Bed, which appears to be the same as the Platform Bed Frame but with a tufted headboard.
The bed frame only comes in three colours: warm oat, charcoal grey and heathered grey, which I tested. The frame is very easy to assemble alone but more efficient with two physically abled people. The bed comes in two boxes that contain the headboard and the frame.
The headboard is light enough to lift, but it’s just big enough to make it an awkward carry. The frame box is long and heavy. I cannot emphasize this enough. Unless you’re trying to prove something, unbox the frame at the point of delivery and carry the frame piece by piece into its new bedroom home. Also, carry the bed frame wood slats in a large durable bag (like a big blue Ikea bag — sorry for this slander above Ikea, can we make up?). This is to avoid any splinters.
Once the frame is ready for rest, it’s simple to actually make the bed with linens… like these, our favourites.

Weight recommendations: Up to 850 lbs Headboard dimensions: 62.5″ L x 37″ H x 4″ D Frame dimensions: 81.5″ L x 62.5″ W x 11″ H Headboard weight: 33 lbs Frame weight: 96 lbs Materials: Birch and cherry wood plywood and Endy classic woven fabric upholstery Bed frame warranty: 5-year limited warranty Location of manufacturing: Quebec and Ontario Price: $865 (free shipping)
Delivery: As mentioned, the frame comes in two boxes. Two big boxes. The person who delivered the frame called me an hour or so before they dropped it off.
Carrying the boxes: I slid the headboard box no problemo. The frame box, problemo. It’s almost 100 lbs and 6’8”. Its supermodel dimensions are difficult to maneuver. I used a hotel luggage trolley to transport it, but then came the stairs. My biggest mistake was carrying the frame box upstairs without unpacking it.
Learn from my mistake: I carried the headboard up the stairs with enough ease. I am 5’10” with a solid wingspan. I kept the frame box intact and attempted to carry it upstairs. Do you know when you laugh and your muscles go useless? The box is so long and heavy and the fact that I think I can carry it up the stairs was hilarious. And then you start thinking of Friends and Ross and “pivot!” and there’s no hope. I mean, I did it, with my mother, but I’d rather have not done it.
I recommend unboxing the frame and carrying each part to its final destination. As mentioned, the wooden slats aren’t perfectly smooth so I’d transport them in a bag to avoid splinters.
Assembly: The instructions that Endy provides are so simple to follow. It says it takes 10 minutes to assemble. I say maybe for an Olympic bed assembler, but 15-20 minutes should do it.
To assemble, lie the frame in a square with the headboard at the top and slide the interlocking mechanism together. Not a single tool required. The set comes with felt padding to stick underneath the legs.
Then lay the wooden slats across the frame and you’re done. It was so easy I didn’t believe I was done.
My favourite feature: As much as I can go on about the easy assembly the final result is what’s most important. It’s a high-quality bed that looks fresh, modern and welcoming.
I also love how easy it is to make the bed. The frame’s lip isn’t that high, so you don’t have to struggle when you change the sheets every week (or two).
My least favourite feature: The one that is unpreventable – the weight of the frame box. I felt like I was in a lumberjack competition transporting that frame box. Next time, I’ll unpack the box.
Recommendation: I recommend this frame to anyone who likes the look of it. That’s the main qualifier if you’re okay with the price. It’s even nicer in person than in photos.
You’ll likely want at least two physically abled people to carry and assemble the frame.
It’s a great product and made in Canada.
